NDA voted the best debt counselling company in South Africa
In a year which can only be described as challenging and turbulent, NDA was voted the number one and best debt counselling company in South Africa at the Debt Review Awards held on Friday, 11 September 2020.
The Debt Review Awards is an industry awards program, which is specific to the debt counselling and debt review industry. All NCR registered debt review industry parties are invited to participate and in line to be considered for awards. The awards are now in their 7th year and the industry gets the chance to share their feedback on various payment distribution agencies (PDA’s). This includes more than 1700 active registered debt counsellors and over 8000 registered credit providers (including all the major banks).
The use of online software allows industry to pool their knowledge and experience to reflect the current level of performance of various industry role players.
Most importantly, the Debt Review Awards recognizes excellence in the debt review industry by all role players and individuals.
Further, now more than ever, responsible, competent, committed debt counsellors are needed to help overwhelmed, over-indebted consumers. Therefore, these awards come at a crucial time.
For the purpose of the Debt Review Awards, debt counsellors are evaluated on the following criteria:
Collection ratios, Client retention, Proposal Quality, Query resolution, Communication and Staff Knowledge, Adherence to timelines, Consumer education, Balancing the needs and rights of the consumer and credit provider, Court and NCT Activity etc.
In addition to that this year, they introduced an additional category regarding excellence during Covid-19.
However, the most hotly contested and most prestigious category of the awards is the award for best debt counselling company in South Africa. And this year that award was very deservingly won by National Debt Advisors (NDA).
For the CEO of National Debt Advisors (NDA) Sebastien Alexanderson, this award for the best debt counselling company in South Africa had special significance given the state of national lockdown, “This is the highlight of a journey I started at 25 years old with my first office job. This is, however, not the end of the journey. In fact, it’s just the beginning of a new, better phase for NDA. As the CEO, I have to make the point that NDA is only the best – because we employ the best. I credit all of this to my entire team. We did this together. In one of the most challenging times in the history of the world, we pulled together and worked harder. And our efforts have borne results that we are immensely proud of.
We have the right people with the right attitude, geared to get South Africans out of debt and on the road to being financially free. We are undoubtedly highly appreciative of the best debt counsellor in SA award. But we don’t do this for the accolades. The current level of SA consumer debt is unsustainable. NDA is committed to increasing financial and consumer literacy and education, to creating platforms for financial and personal growth and to become the employer of choice that will help as many South Africans as possible become debt-free and reach financial freedom. So that they may add value to the economy and growth of this beautiful country.”
